Foreword

Since joining IMPOWER nearly a year ago, I have been delighted and impressed by the level of expertise and passion amongst our teams, and the impact they achieve consistently in partnership with our clients. The stories and case studies that I have seen and heard over the last year have been aggregated for the first time into our 2023 IMPOWER Annual Impact Report.

This report highlights the results we have achieved across our different projects and commissions since January 2022. Case studies tell the stories of our transformation approach and the outcomes achieved for service users, at the front line where some of the most vulnerable people in our communities need most support. Individual spotlight pieces bring to life the differences we have made for individuals, parents, carers and families.

Across more than 50 assignments, we have identified and delivered millions of pounds of savings for our clients; we have helped people get home quicker from hospital and stay at home safely for longer; we have helped vulnerable children get the right care; and we have helped scores of children with additional needs, many of whom have stayed in mainstream education where their life chances are hugely enhanced.

I believe strongly that it is important that we back up our commitments by delivering sustainable impact that remains on a strong trajectory after the life of an IMPOWER project or commission. It is simply not enough to deliver a comprehensive evaluation and analysis and leave clients with a list of recommendations. We support our clients to tackle complex challenges and influence strengths-based practice at the front line, driving long-term change through a number of tools (and AI where appropriate), applied analytics and co-production.
