Job title: Insight Analyst

iMPOWER is expanding and looking for an enthusiastic, intellectually curious person with advanced data analysis skills to help us use insight to shape our collateral and conversations.

Location: London Head Office

Overview

This role will help to position iMPOWER as a leading consultancy for thought leadership in public services by identifying, developing, articulating and sharing the company’s insights while also tracking external trends, theories and policy debates.

The job holder will have some understanding of the challenges and opportunities in local government and the wider health & care sector. They will be naturally curious about what drives behaviours and interested in solving complex problems by using data analysis to provide new insights.

They will be as comfortable working with numbers as with words, creating spreadsheets, processing and manipulating data, and thinking of innovative ways to share analysis using both words and data visualisation.

They will be pragmatic and have lots of common sense, will enjoy using their initiative and will be spreadsheet-savvy.

Accountabilities and relationships

Working across the company with all staff, including Director Policy & Public Affairs, and as part of a virtual Insight Team, the job holder will report to Henri Curzon, Senior Manager.

Key Duties

·        work with the virtual Insight Team to develop and implement a new insight strategy which will include identifying, sharing, developing and tracking learnings and insights from iMPOWER projects

·        lead on the iMPOWER Indexes, keeping them updated, generating useful cuts of the data in client-friendly ways for business development, policy development and communications, and leading new iMPOWER Index innovations

·        gather and analyse local government and healthcare data from external sources, looking for trends, patterns and exceptions for use in our external communications

·        develop a system for better knowledge management

·        network with – and stay on top of publications, proposals and critiques from – central and local government, NGOs, academics and thinktanks, and attend relevant conferences and events

·        support and quality-control data analysis undertaken by our consultants including analytical support in the production of our publications and external presentations

·        other tasks as needed

Skills and experience

·        Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

·        Advanced numeracy and spreadsheet skills, including Excel; experience of data visualisation or mapping software an advantage

·        Some experience of local government and/or healthcare

·        Intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills

·        Common sense

·        Strong attention to detail

·        Support for company’s values
