Do you have a passion for public services? Are you interested in how behavioural science can help to solve complex social problems? Are you naturally curious? IMPOWER is expanding and looking for enthusiastic, intellectually curious, empathetic and motivated team players to join us as Consultants.

Our Consultants are primarily responsible for supporting the delivery of consulting projects, ensuring that our high-quality bespoke solutions meet individual client requirements, using our EDGEWORK® approach. Candidates will have some understanding of the challenges and opportunities in local government and healthcare.

You might have previous consulting experience, or you might presently work in the public sector. You will be naturally curious about what drives behaviours and interested in solving complex problems by using data analysis, good judgement and an ability to see beyond day-to-day pressures. You have good organisation skills, and want to invest in your own learning and development. You care about quality and have strong attention to detail. You share IMPOWER’s passion for people and are excited about working with the best management consultancy in local public services.


  • Delivery of high quality work within agreed timelines
  • Attendance to and facilitation of workshops with support from the Senior Consultant or Manager on site
  • Generation of insight and impact in project delivery, contributing to the company profile and communication plans
  • Providing active support to internal projects when not resourced to an external project
  • Proactive personal development

Skills and Experience

  • 1-2 years’ previous work experience either in public or charity sector, or within project support
  • Interest in UK public services and/or social issues
  • Emotionally intelligent, understands how to work in values-based organisations and environments
  • Team driven
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Strong Microsoft Office capabilities

Hours: Full time

Location: Nationwide, with a London head office

Salary: £30,000 – £38,000 + discretionary annual bonus
