IMPOWER’s Heroes of 2020: 4 December

My nomination as a Hero of 2020 is Professor Chris Whitty – the calm voice of authority and clear-headed expert at the helm of the nation’s strategy to fend off coronavirus. In an era in which the currency of experts has become so devalued, it has been a great comfort to see politicians responding to his considered and data-driven advice, which has always sought to carefully tread the path between health and socio-economic impacts. Just one thing – please can someone buy him a wireless PowerPoint clicker for Christmas so he doesn’t have to keep saying “Next slide please”?!
