IMPOWER’s Heroes of 2019: 9 December

We have been working with Carol Kelsey, chair of Hertfordshire Parent and Carer Forum, since the summer. We have constantly been blown away not only by the breadth of her knowledge and the number of initiatives she is involved with, but also by her ability to approach any challenge with a wry smile. Carol has been endlessly generous with her time as we have worked to develop the Valuing SEND approach, which is enabling councils to take a holistic view of the needs of children and young people with SEND, in order to underpin a strengths-based approach across the system. We know that she is even more generous with her time when it comes to supporting Hertfordshire’s parents and carers, and as we reflect back on 2019 it is clear she is one of its stars!
