Our new report Home Truths shows that a radical new focus on managing demand is needed to address the social care funding challenge.

We highlight one aspect of this in particular – dysfunctional relationships between GPs and social care staff are driving demand for residential care.

We have pioneered work on behaviour change and demand management across local public services, developing a range of tools and insight. We have developed an approach to:

  • Influencing GPs to significantly reduce entry to residential care and save £4m per council
  • Understanding and transforming demand across adult social care, saving even more
