Heroes of 2021: Jon Morris, MLCO

Bryony Langdon

‘Heroes of 2021’ is IMPOWER’s annual end of year celebration, acknowledging the fantastic individuals and teams we have worked with this year. We are inspired by the passion and commitment of all our partners to deliver better outcomes for their citizens, but IMPOWER colleagues have nominated clients who have particularly stood out to them this year.

Nominated by: Bryony Langdon, Manager

Jon is a Senior Social Worker at Manchester Local Care Organisation (MLCO), working in the Sharston, Baguley and Woodhouse Park Integrated Neighbourhood Team.

He has taken a leading practitioner role in Better Outcomes, Better Lives; Manchester’s ambitious, fast-paced, complex, large-scale Adult Social Care transformation programme. He leads by example; supports his colleagues to fully engage with the BOBL programme; and regularly works with colleagues in different parts of MLCO, such as Commissioning and Performance to enhance the programme’s impact on Manchester’s most vulnerable residents.

Jon has been resolutely committed to further embedding and enhancing strengths-based approaches in Manchester, supporting the citizens he works with to achieve the best possible outcomes.

He is an asset to Manchester, and fully embodies public sector values. His mindset and skillset have never been more important for practitioners, and will become even more important as the public sector grapples with the fallout and recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
