Alternative advent calendar: 14 December

Our advent calendar celebrates a dozen people or teams who have inspired us this year

Amanda Kelly, Managing Director, writes:

Kathy is one of those impressive people whose passion for children’s rights is paired with colossal brainpower; the combination makes her truly formidable. She has been a champion for children and young people for many years, and has that rare ability to take an issue and come up with a genuinely new way of thinking that challenges the status quo.  Her idea for a Care Bank, which she proposed in the Children in Charge paper, could be a massive catalyst for change if policymakers are sufficiently forward thinking!
