Adult Social Care Module

The adult social care module of the IMPOWER INDEX is a comprehensive tool for assessing and benchmarking adult social care performance across a range of factors, with a specific focus on managing demand.

Positively managing demand in adult social care is about addressing citizens’ needs early on to prevent them from escalating, empowering people to do more for themselves, and building self-sufficient and resilient communities. Our analysis shows that, of the £14 billion spent annually on adult social care, 70% of it is influenceable and 20% is avoidable altogether.

If those working in the sector set an inclusive ambition to take every opportunity to promote independence, we could improve the outcomes for people and spend £3 billion less each year.

The module covers:

  • Productivity
  • Demand
  • Carers
  • Finance
  • Health and Care
