Declared a climate emergency? Here’s what to do next
Climate change module of the Index provides councils with a better understanding of where to focus their activity
For many local authorities, the climate emergency challenge feels insurmountable. We are helping our customers down the path to Net Zero.
The profile and activities around climate change continue to increase. For many local authorities, delivering net Zero-Carbon feels insurmountable. However, with more than 300 local authorities declaring a climate emergency, there has never been a more urgent need to grasp this challenge.
Responding to climate change demands a place-based approach. Our focus is on managing the complexity around local authorities, healthcare, industry and citizens – delivering whole-system behavioural change.
The Challenge
This is hugely challenging and a complex agenda. For many, it is too big to grasp.
At IMPOWER, we are shaping our approach to supporting councils to achieve their net-zero goals. We understand the local consequences of failing to act, and we understand the need to look beyond what we can directly control to really achieve an impact. This is the ultimate of complex problems, and one which requires a truly local response if we are to achieve net-zero carbon by 2030. This is a priority for us, and we are passionate about supporting councils with this complex challenge.
Our work around climate change will align with the other IMPOWER activities, as follows:
