Diane Sheard

As Policy & Public Affairs Director, Diane’s focus is on both sharing IMPOWER’s policy insights across the sector and ensuring that our consulting methodologies draw from best practice. Diane joined IMPOWER in September 2017 after successful careers in central government and the charitable sector. As a career diplomat with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Diane served postings in South Africa and at the United Nations in New York, as well as heading up the Permanent Secretary’s team in London. On leaving the Diplomatic Service in 2012, Diane joined ONE, the international campaign and advocacy organisation co-founded by Bono. With her team, Diane lobbied governments and built public support in the UK and across Europe for new laws on company transparency, aid spending and securing ambitious financial commitments to fight AIDS, malaria and malnutrition.
