Find out who has inspired me this year…

Left to right: Sharon Drewery, James Bird and Joanne Makings

The new SEND Advice Line for Lincolnshire (Ask SALL) aims to help schools and other education settings to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND as early as possible, in the most appropriate way. The new service was developed over summer and the brand new Ask SALL team began taking calls from SENCOs across the county in the autumn term. We were really impressed by how quickly the new team swung into action, drawing on their knowledge of Lincolnshire’s local offer to help schools and other education settings ensure they are providing the right support to children and young people at the right time.

The team have received lots of brilliant feedback so far, with many SENCOs reporting they’ve really valued being able to contact Ask SALL and have come away feeling more confident meeting needs. Special thanks to Sharon Drewery, James Bird, Joanne Makings and Anne Faulkner, and the many others across Lincolnshire for their support to the team.

And it’s worth mentioning that the team have done all of this virtually and in the midst of a global pandemic! For all of these reasons and more the Ask SALL Team had to be some of our heroes of 2020!
