SOLACE Summit 2011
iMPOWER will be taking part in this year’s SOLACE conference in Edinburgh and joining in the debate on ‘We must put the democracy back into localism’. The conference takes place on the 11th – 13th October with the workstream discussion taking place on the second day of the conference, Wednesday 12th October. Jon Ainger, Director at iMPOWER & one of LGC Top 50 Ones to Watch, will be speaking on behalf of iMPOWER.
iMPOWER together with its clients has been pioneering a range of new approaches to demand management which are unlocking the waste between local government and citizens which leads to unsustainable demand. iMPOWER will be discussing how relationships between local government and individuals have become adversarial and need to be participative to be effective. There is a direct link between the effectiveness (and by extension the productivity and cost) of a service and the level of participation by the citizen. With better relationships and constructive participation we can start to make the financial future of local authorities more sustainable.
