Martin Cresswell, chief executive

imageMartin is the Chief Executive of iMPOWER and brings 25 years experience of working with local government.

Martin is a CIPFA qualified accountant and specialises in the areas of organisational transformation, efficiency, and performance improvement. During his career Martin has worked for 4 large, urban local authorities, as a business development director at a leading provider of outsourced services to local government, and for eight years at a combination of KPMG and Deloitte as a Director of local government services.

Specific projects that Martin has delivered include:

Developing the organisational transformation programme (Building a Council Fit for the Future) at Dorset County Council
Building a shared services case for Revenues and Benefits across East Sussex
Developing the Care Services Efficiency Delivery Programme for the Department of Health – identifying £1Bn efficiencies
Building strategic service delivery partnerships at the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and the London Borough of Ealing
Working for the Department of Health and ODPM to improve ‘Zero Star’ and ‘Weak’ Councils
Building a business model of local government reorganisation at Dorset County Council
