iMPOWER has been awarded a Big Tick in this years Business in the Community’s (BITC) awards. iMPOWER was further recognised as highly commended as a national example by the Prince of Wales at the BITC annual gala dinner in London on the 12th July 2006.
The Impact on Society for small companies category recognised 18 organisations nationally for Big Ticks awards, five of which were shortlisted for the national example.
The Big Tick is awarded to companies that are able to demonstrate a high standard of excellence in the way they organise and integrate their responsible business practices, and can show a positive impact both on society and on the business.
iMPOWER’s recently launched community involvement programme provides staff with a range of ways to support the community. The core focus of the programme is the company-wide involvement with the chosen charity partner where the emphasis of activity is on the sharing of time and skills. The programme has been designed to facilitate and promote further individual involvement through payroll giving, time off for volunteering and employee sponsorship.
“We are delighted to have been recognised with a Big Tick for our Community Involvement programme and to have the opportunity to be able to demonstrate the impact and contribution that small businesses can make to the corporate social responsibility agenda.”
Giles Piercy, Chief Executive, iMPOWER
